I’m taking a little break from writing my next in my “Lacey’s Amazing America” series (AMAZING FLORIDA) to write this blog. Until this year I was never a big fan of soccer, but have been enjoying watching many of the matches so far.
One of the unexpected pluses of hosting The World Cup has been this: our BEST ambassadors to promote the United States are from other countries! I’ve heard all kinds of soccer fans who are visiting the U.S. from other countries say HOW MUCH THEY LOVE AMERICA.
THEY need to move HERE and WE need to kick out U.S. citizens who openly announce that they HATE America and all it stands for!
Our foreign visitors are joyfully posting videos of their great experiences with all the things that so many Americans take for granted. From Waffle House meals to Buc-EEs shopping experiences to simply walking our streets in relative safety, they have all said that what the media has portrayed as “America” and what our visitors are actually experiencing is the opposite of what they thought they would experience here.
God bless the U.S.A. and God bless our World Cup visitors!!!
